Hillside School Project

A school grounds project began at Hillside School, Cumnock in December 2006, between the school,
East Ayrshire Woodlands and the CSV Give & Take project.
The main elements to the project were to create a large living willow dome, incorporating
a tunnel entrance and wheelchair access, together with a living willow tunnel to a seating
area and a section of living fence.

An existing unsightly area of bark chippings, which had become overgrown with brambles,
was cleared, covered with weed suppressant sheeting, filled with new soil and sown as a
wildflower meadow. Areas of environmental art enhanced other parts of the garden and raised beds improved.
