November 17th 2005 - New Handrail at Bellsbank

BELLSBANK RESIDENT PLEASED WITH NEW HANDRAIL

Residents of Bellsbank have been provided with easier access thanks to a sturdy new handrail installed by Cumnock based East Ayrshire Woodlands with funding provided from the Minerals Trust.

East Ayrshire Woodlands were alerted to the problem of the previous wooden handrail by local resident Mr Tom Filson. East Ayrshire Woodlands Forester Reg Briers commented; "We were very happy to provide this excellent new handrail for the residents of Bellsbank, which will certainly make it much easier for older people in particular to use the flight of steps". He added; "The funding from the Minerals Trust has allowed us to install this new handrail for the safety and comfort of local people on a well used path"
